Assessments

An assessment is the evidence-producing activity that backs a credential. Open Degree assessments are open: the task, the evidence requirements, and the rubric are all published.

Kinds

Rules

• Every assessment names the outcomes it measures. Because each concept has one node and one statement, an assessment written here measures the same thing on every platform. Measure the node directly, not a proxy.
• evidenceRequirements list exactly what the learner submits or demonstrates. A stranger should be able to check the evidence against the rubric.
• Where an assessment reuses a public instrument, such as a past state exam, link it in rubricUrl or the body and say which outcomes it covers.
• Assessments never depend on seat time, enrollment, or a particular platform.
